MK Photo, owned by Mikelle Kamm, is a photography business specializing in lifestyle family photography, child photography, couples photography, and branding photography with a focus on connection.
The Challenge
Mikelle Kamm's photography business covers family, child, couples, and branding sessions. She had been through several transitions, and her brand never quite matched the business she wanted to build.
She was rebranding to MK Photo for a more fun, energetic experience, and she wanted to be the go-to photographer for affordable photography of any kind. She needed an identity and website that said affordable, creative, and client-focused, and that stood out in a crowded local market.
The Solution
I developed the brand strategy first, then built the visual identity on top of it. That included a modern, minimalist logo suite, a softer, playful sub-brand for MK Photo Kids, and brand patterns. I also made a full brand guide with color, font, and logo usage rules, plus a business card design.
The website is bold but minimal, with a masonry portfolio that groups images by session. I also set up HoneyBook as her CRM so the brand carries through to her client experience. At handoff, I walked her through editing text, swapping images, and updating her portfolio herself.
The Result
MK Photo now looks like what Mikelle wanted: bright, energetic, and nothing like a typical muted Idaho photographer's site. She told me the brand and site captured exactly what she had in mind, and that between the new website, the SEO, and a reel that reached 16 million views, she is booked solid through December at the time of writing this. She also has the files, guidelines, and training to manage the site on her own as the business grows.
